A majority of Americans agree with President Donald Trump when it comes to NFL players' protests during the national anthem, according to a new survey.
A new poll from the right-leaning Remington Research Group found that nearly two-thirds of Americans â 64 percent â believe football players âshould stand and be respectful during the national anthem.â
Following Sunday's NFL-wide âStar-Spangled Bannerâ protest by numerous players, 50 percent of Americans said they are âless likelyâ to tune in when their favorite teams play in the future.
Fifty-one percent of respondents said they already started off the year watching less football than they did in 2016 and 69 percent said the reason is that âplayers [are] using the NFL as a stage for their political views.â
While 31 percent said they support the players' demonstration during the national anthem, 60 percent said there is âa more appropriate place to protest.â
