Katy Perry's Future Daughter's Celebrity Godmother Revealed

You’ll never guess who Katy Perry chose to be her future daughter’s godmother.

According to The Daily Mirror, the “Daisies” singer, who is just a few weeks away from giving birth to her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom, reportedly asked actress Jennifer Aniston to be her unborn baby girl’s godmother.

As a source revealed, Aniston is one of Perry’s longtime gal pals and so it was a no-brainer that the engaged lovebirds would present the Friends alum with the honor of being a godparent to their firstborn. The moment was an emotional one for the mommy-to-be and the 51-year-old actress, who supposedly broke down in tears when asked to fulfill the role.

“Katy and Jen are very close. During lockdown they went for socially distanced walks, and spent lots of time catching up,” the insider told the outlet. “She is pretty chuffed about it as well and cried when they asked her.”

Aniston has years of experience being a godmother, having served the role to friend Courteney Cox’s 16-year-old daughter, Coco.

Perry first announced her pregnancy news in the music video for her song “Never Worn White” back in March. Since then, she’s been sharing tons of photos and videos of her burgeoning belly bump on social media.

The 35-year-old future daughter isn’t the only exciting arrival to come in the weeks ahead, as Perry is scheduled to release her fifth studio album, which she recently announced will be titled Smile. What’s more, the songbird also unveiled the uplifting and hopeful title track from the LP, which releases on August 14. (In case you missed it, hear it here.)
