Megan Moroney made a surprise appearance at pop superstar Tate McRae’s headlining concert on Thursday night (September 11) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Moroney — one of the most-nominated artists at the upcoming 59th Country Music Association Awards at the same venue — joined McRae in her signature knee-high cowgirl boots and a dazzling rhinestone guitar. Together, they delivered a stunning duet rendition of Moroney’s latest single, “6 Months Later.”

“6 Months Later” arrived over the summer, and quickly became a thunderous singalong moment during Moroney’s live shows. The country star (and on Thursday, McRae) sings about surviving a “dramatic” split, and receives a call from her ex: “The ‘Hey Meg, I think I want you back/ I’m a couple drinks in, thinkin' it's my bad/ That I let you walk away and let you go’/ It's the tale as old as time, I guess/ When you couldn't care more, I couldn't care less/ You're a little too late to the party, heartbreaker/ What doesn't kill you calls you six months later.”

Thursday’s concert marks the latest time McRae and Moroney teamed up together on stage. Last year, they performed the Georgia-born country star’s breakout single, “Tennessee Orange.” The two artists also delivered separate, high-energy performances earlier this month at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in New York. Moroney made history as the first-ever winner of the new Best Country category. McRae also teamed up with country superstar Morgan Wallen on “What I Want,” a collaboration that appeared on Wallen’s 37-track studio album this year. McRae became Wallen’s first female duet partner. Earlier this year, Moroney ranked McRae among the top three pop artists she’d want to collaborate with someday.
