The Ventura County (CA) Sheriff’s Department searched Wednesday afternoon for Naya Rivera. The Glee actress and singer disappeared in a Southern California lake. She is presumed dead by drowning.
Naya’s 4-year-old son, who wore a personal flotation device, was discovered unharmed in a rented pontoon boat. He reportedly told authorities that his mother went swimming without a life vest and never returned to the boat. Scuba teams dove Lake Piru. Helicopters and drones helped with the search effort.
This is not the first time the cast of Glee has seen tragedy. This follows the premature deaths of Cory Monteith and Mark Salling. Then there’s Lea Michele’s horrid behavior.
Naya’s purse was located inside her Mercedes G-Wagon parked near the boat rental office. Her son has been reunited with his father, Ryan Dorsey, who divorced Naya in 2018. Naya's most recent Instagram featured her kissing their son.
